About

syslog is the blog of the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory's Systems Research Group. Here, we talk about exciting new research in systems that is being done in the group and elsewhere.

Systems is the largest research area in the Computer Laboratory covering hardware, communications hardware and software, operating systems and distributed systems. Past systems developed here include EDSAC, the TRIPOS operating system, the Cambridge Ring, the Cambridge Distributed Computing System and more recently| the Xen virtual machine monitor. The Systems Research Group (SRG) has some 40 members, and is divided into a number of subgroups: the Opera group, the Networks and Operating Systems group, and the Home Area Networking group.
